Rules in CAI (Italian Alpine Club) huts

• Sending an email does not book a bed. A booking counts only once the hut has explicitly confirmed it. Booking is recommended for everyone and required for groups of more than ten. Regulation art. 4
• A booking holds until 6 pm on the arrival day. Tell the hut if you will be late. art. 4
• The hut may ask for a deposit of up to one night's bed-only price, kept if you cancel, unless you cancel by 6 pm three days before arrival (absent other agreement). art. 4
• A sleeping-bag liner is required; ask the hut if you have none. Show ID (and a club card if you have one) when you check in. No boots indoors; fold your blankets. art. 5, 10
• Members get at least 20% off half board (CAI and reciprocal clubs; CAI members under 25 at least 30%). Each hut sets its own half-board price and posts it. 2026 tariff
• Bed-only prices are capped by hut category (A–E, by how hard the hut is to reach and supply): in 2026 a dormitory bed costs €30–39 for non-members and €24–31.20 for members. Bed-only stays are limited to three nights in a row. From 1 October to 30 April non-members pay 30% more for heating. 2026 tariff
• You never have to order. Eating your own food costs non-members €3 and is free for members. art. 8 · 2026 tariff

Private huts, huts owned by the province and AVS (South Tyrol Alpine Club) huts are outside the CAI rules; prices, deposits and cancellation are set by each hut. Each hut page carries that hut's own terms from its official site.
